Dubois Firefighters gave a helping hand in fire Tuesday afternoon that destroyed an Orange County home.

Just before 2:30 yesterday afternoon, Dubois Volunteer Firefighters were called for tanker assistance at the home located along the 8500 block of W 600 South in Orange County.
Upon arrival, Dubois firefighters assisted Orange County District 1 and French Lick fire departments on a working house fire.

Dubois spokesman Zach Eichmiller says the home was the residence of an Indiana State Trooper, who’s name was not released to the department.

Dubois units responded with one tanker truck to shuttle water to the scene. Eichmiller says due to the location of the home, water supply was an issue for firefighters on scene.

He says the home was most likely considered a total loss.

Five Dubois firefighters were on scene for around two hours assisting with water supply.
