Officials with the city of Jasper’s Municipal Water Department say the boil order that was issued for residents on Jasper east southeast side has been lifted

The order that was put into place Sunday afternoon affected residents and customers along 2nd Avenue and State Road 64 from 3rd Avenue to Sherri Lane, Riverside Drive and Hillside Drive.

Officials say tests conducted over the last couple of days have revealed that the water is safe to consume. They say flushing lines in homes and businesses is not necessary and that ice accumulated during this time is also safe.

Any questions concerning the lifting of the boil order can be directed to the Jasper Municipal Water Department @ 812-482-5252.
