Dubois County CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) is holding a winter training class for new, potential volunteers.

Training will begin Tuesday, February 13th from 6 till 9 pm at the Dubois County Community Foundation located at 600 McCrillus Street in Jasper.

Training will last approximately eight weeks.

CASA volunteers are community members trained to represent children who are part of the court system due to abuse or neglect. Over 150 Dubois County children need a CASA each year. Currently, over 18 Dubois County children are on a waitlist.

Those interested in becoming a volunteer should complete an online application found at duboiscountycasa.org no later than January 30th.
