A Jasper man was placed under arrest after he allegedly left the scene of an accident he was involved in Wednesday morning in Huntingburg and then made threat to the other person involved and their family.

Just after 7 am yesterday, Huntingburg Police were notified of an accident that had just taken place in the 100 block of East 4th Street and as officers were responding, they learned that the vehicle that caused the incident had left the scene.

Police identified the driver as 24-year old Sawyer Schutz of Jasper. Police say while at the accident scene they also learned that Schutz had made threats towards the victim and a family member.

Police found Schutz and the vehicle believed to have been involved on Veolkel Road between Duff and Huntingburg.

Schutz was transported to Memorial Hospital in Jasper for medical clearance before he taken to the Dubois County Security Center where he was booked on charges of Intimidation and Leaving the Scene of an Accident.
