Some sad news to report today. Ray Roesner, a former principal and coach at Southridge High School passed away this week on Wednesday.

The Holland native, who was currently living in Vincennes passed away Wednesday at St. Charles Health Campus in Jasper.

After graduating Holland High School from Oakland City, Roesner was head coach from 1958-61 at Chrisney. From 1962-64, he was an assistant at Vincennes. Then it was on to Orleans for 1966-67, Princeton 1967-69, and Holland in 1970-71.

After Holland and Huntingburg consolidated into Southridge, Roesner served as principal from 1973 to 1986. And then later returned to coaching leading the Raiders from 1991 to 97.

Ray is survived by his wife, three children, two sisters, seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
