A traffic stop in Pike County over the weekend resulted in two arrests and the seizure of over 140 grams of methamphetamine.

Indiana State Police say just before 1 am Saturday, a trooper pulled over a pasenger car police say was clocked at 44 mph in a 30 mph zone on State Road 257 in Otwell.

Police identified the driver as 33-year old John Allen of Petersburg along with a passenger 40-year Edward Simison of Washington.

Due to suspicious activity, the trooper searched the vehicle and discovered 144 grams of methamphetamine, a small amount of heroin, drug paraphernalia and a syringe loaded with suspected heroin.

Allen and Simison were arrested and taken to the Pike County Jail where they are currently being held without bond.

Both are facing felony charges of Dealing Methamphetamine, Possession of Methamphetamine, Possession of Heroin, Unlawful Possession of a Syringe and Maintaining a Common Nuisance

State police were assisted by the Pike County Sheriff’s Department.
