A Jasper woman found herself behind bars Saturday after trespassing at a convenience store in which she was not allowed to be at.

34-year-old Amanda Jo Conley of Jasper was arrested on Saturday morning after Jasper Police were called to the Circle A Gas Station on North Newton Street for a report of a woman who was slumped over her steering wheel for more than a half hour.

Police say when they made contact with Conley, she allegedly appeared as though she was under the influence of narcotics and while speaking with her, a free air sniff was completed by a K9 unit around the vehicle, which gave a positive indication of drugs on the vehicles passenger side.

A search of Conley’s vehicle lead to the discovery of a white, crystalline substance which was found rolled up in a Jasper Utilities bill.

Conley told police the substance was methamphetamine.

Police say a protective order had been in place prohibiting Conley from being on Circle A property; therefore she was committing an Invasion of Privacy offense by being on their property.

Conley was charged with a Level 6 Felony count of Possession of Methamphetamine and a Class A Misdemeanor of Invasion of Privacy.

She was taken to and booked into the Dubois County Security Center without incident.

Jasper Police were assisted by the Dubois County Sheriff’s Department.
