Wednesday morning in Daviess county 29-year-old Keith Wittmer of Montgomery was arrested after he crashed into a Amish buggy and then fled the scene.

The Amish man struck by Wittmers Pontiac Montana minivan did suffer from minor scraps and bleeding to his arms and legs but refused treatment at the scene.

Indiana State Police conducted a canvas search of the area and located 29-year-old Wittmer near County Road 400 North 710 East.

He was taken into custody without incident. Police said he refused to submit to a chemical test

Wittmer was arrested and incarcerated at the Daviess County Jail where he is facing multiple charges including:

Possession of Methamphetamine, 1 Count, IC 35-48-4-6.1, Level 6 Felony

Maintaining a Common Nuisance, 1 Count, IC 35-45-1-5, Level 6 Felony

Leaving the Scene of an Injury Accident, 1 Count, IC 9-26-1-1.1, Class A Misdemeanor

Operating While Intoxicated (Refusal), 1 Count, IC 9-30-5-2, Class C Misdemeanor

Operating While Intoxicated Endangerment (Refusal), 1 Count, IC 9-30-5-2A, Class A Misdemeanor

Possession of Paraphernalia, 1 Count, IC 35-48-4-8.3, Class C Misdemeanor

Agencies working the scene included Deputies with the Daviess County Sheriffs Department, Montgomery Volunteer Fire-Department and Indiana State Police.
