  Stephen R. “Steve” Houchin, 66, of Stendal, passed away on Saturday, September 29, 2018, at The Waters of Huntingburg.

            He was born August 1, 1952, in Huntingburg to Orville and Doris (Huff) Houchin.  Steve married Debbie Andry on June 29, 1991.  He was a former truck driver at Styline; and enjoyed animals, being outdoors and working on cars.  He was preceded in death by his parents; his father-in-law, Lugene Andry; brother-in-law, David Andry; and granddaughter, Josie Hagemeyer.

            He is survived by his wife, Debbie Houchin of Stendal; three children, Dawn (Joe) Smith of Dayton, Ohio, Rachel (Ryan) Hagemeyer of Stendal, and Hannah Fleck of Greenfield; two stepchildren, Stephen (Lori) Toby of Stendal and Gwen (Scott) Boylan of Indianapolis; his mother-in-law, Norma Andry of Birdseye; two sisters, Sharon (Bill) Leazenby and Kay Marshall both of Huntingburg; (15) grandchildren and (1) great grandchild.

            Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 3, 2018, at Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg with burial at Birdseye Cemetery.

            Friends may call for visitation at the Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg from 10:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m., Wednesday.  In lieu of flowers, memorials can be used for headstone expenses.  Condolences online:  www.nassandson.com
