Work on a waterline project will force the closure of a one block stretch of a busy Jasper Street that will begin Friday and continue through the weekend and the early part of next week.

Officials with the City of Jasper say beginning tomorrow, West 9th Sreet between Newton and Clay Streets will be closed due to the 231 Waterline project.

Officials say the closure will start Friday and the usually busy one block stretch will remain closed during the weekend and this Monday, April 1st.

Motorists are asked to use an alternate route.
