A little after midnight this morning, an Officer with the Jasper City Police Department initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle with no headlights. While speaking to the owner of the vehicle, 33-year-old Kristina Lewis of Jasper, the officer detected a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from Ms. Lewis.

After several physical signs of impairment, Ms. Lewis was very uncooperative and refused to perform a field sobriety test or administer a PBT sample. Ms. Lewis refused any further testing.

Kristina Lewis is being charged with OWI prior, Operating while intoxicated causing endangerment, and Operating while suspended prior. She was given a warning for no headlights. Ms. Lewis was lodged at the Dubois County Security Center.
