June is National Housing Month, and TRI-CAP and USDA-RD wanted to celebrate.

Representatives from state and local offices of USDA-RD gathered today to recognize the combined efforts in preserving Southern Indiana housing.

The companies have been partners for at least 17 years.

The TRI-CAP Housing Director, Neil Elkins, explains how the partnership has helped the community.

Homeowners with either a new home or want to preserve their current home with the USDA-RD programs also came to be recognized.

One homeowner, Brian Osgatharp, signed the first grant through the programs and says at first, he knew nothing about it.

Osgatharp plans to use the grant to renovate his home by getting new windows and a roof.
