A new chapter for the Huntingburg community began today at the Former Wagon Works Property on Washington Street.

Officials from the Paragus Group and TRI-CAPP, as well as the city,  gathered together for a groundbreaking ceremony for the Wagon Works Apartment Complex.

Huntingburg Mayor Denny Spinner was one of the city officials at the ceremony. He explains why today plays such an important role in the community.

The site was originally an industrial site for OFS.

Mayor Spinner says affordable housing is just what the community needs, and it will be the first of its kind in Dubois County.

The project will include a total of 56 apartments. 28 of these will be studio, 24 one-bedroom, four two-bedroom apartments, and a community room.

Currently, the estimated completion of the project is the end of next year.

This is the final project in Huntingburg’s Stellar Strategic Investment Plan, where they partnered with Indiana Housing and Community Authority TRI-CAP and Paragus Development.
