New information has come to light in a Child Molesting and Sexual Battery case from this past May.

On May 17th, the Jasper Police Department began an investigation resulting in the arrest of Dexter Hensley. In May he was charged with Child Molesting and Sexual Battery.

Authorities believe these offenses actually happened 3 to 5 years ago.

Recently, the investigation revealed that Howard Geck of Huntingburg was notified about these allegations about 2 years ago, but failed to report it to DCS or Law Enforcement.

Geck has been formally charged with Failure to Make A Report, a Class B Misdemeanor.

Indiana state law requires anyone who has reason to believe a child is a victim of child abuse immediately and make a report with DCS and/or the local law enforcement agency.

The Dubois County Prosecutor’s Office is offering an amnesty program for anyone who has previously failed to report regardless of when the abuse occurred. This program runs until July 31st.
