A Huntingburg man is heading to the Hudson River on a special mission with the Navy Seals.

Huntingburg native and University of Evansville grad, Ryan Menke, is participating in the first-ever legally sanctioned swim across the Hudson River.

He is just one of the 32 Navy Deals doing pushups and pullups along the way to the 9/11 Memorial.

The goal of this special mission is to raise awareness for homeless veterans.

Menke is the only civilian participating in the swim and hopes to raise a total of $10,000.

The swim and run take place on August 3rd.
