The Jasper Police Department needs your help in identifying the individual who left the scene of an accident on Sunday night.

Witnesses told police they saw a burgundy Mercury Montego passenger car going eastbound on 14th Street when it struck a dog east Newton Street at 9:40 pm.

According to witnesses, the car continued east on 14th Street before turning north onto Mill Street.

Police say the Mercury may have damage to its front bumper or front right corner.
