The City of Jasper, along with its contractor, will be doing storm sewer work on Newton Street impacting the area from 7th Street to 13th Street in the coming weeks. This work will require lane closures, traffic pattern movements, and intersection closures at times to facilitate the work.

These restrictions will remain in effect during daytime and nighttime hours. This work is expected to last 4 weeks, weather permitting and barring an unforeseen circumstance.

The City of Jasper apologizes for any inconvenience this may cause.

The City of Jasper is aggressively pursuing infrastructure improvements with the newly installed water main project, the storm sewer project, and the replacement of many portions of sidewalks along Newton and West 6th Street in advance of the Indiana Department of Transportation planned work on US 231 this Fall and the Spring of 2020.

The City of Jasper reminds motorists to slow down and use caution when traveling through work zones.
