The Ferdinand Folk Fest was this weekend at 18th Street Park in Ferdinand to great success. With acts such as Honeysuckle, The Way Down Wanderers, and Folk Legend Bruce Cockburn, the park was filled with music into the night on a 100% solar-powered stage.

Coordinator of the Ferdinand Folk Fest Rock Emmert says the fest is a great way for people to come together and listen to music about the people.

Emmert says that people from all across the tri-state area came out for the festival, including places like St. Louis, Cincinnati, and Chicago.

Kris Lasher, co-coordinator with Emmert, says that the Ferdinand Folk Fest is a great way to show how welcoming the community of Ferdinand can be.

Celebrating its 10th year, the Ferdinand Folk Fest doesn’t plan on slowing down.
