Jasper is holding several special events throughout the week as part of Downtown Development Week.

Lieutenant Governor Suzanne Crouch designated this week to pay tribute to cities and town across the state, and how they make their downtown areas stand out.

Jasper kicks off the celebration tomorrow a proclamation by Mayor Dean Vonderheide. This takes place at 8 am in City Hall during the Board of Public Works and Safety meeting.

The Greater Downtown Jasper Business Association is inviting everyone to their “Evening of Appetizers” on Wednesday. From 5 to 8 pm, you can walk around downtown and enjoy various samples of food and beer.

Some downtown businesses will take part in the Fall Story Book Walk throughout the week. Here, you can read pages of the book in store windows while taking a stroll in the downtown square.

And that is not all. German American is hosting a Customer Appreciation Day on Friday, October 11th.

During regular business hours, all offices will serve refreshments and customers can enter to win a German American sweatshirt blanket, and bring non-perishable food items to donate to a local food bank.
