Early this morning, just before 1:30 am, officers with the Jasper Police Department stopped a white passenger car near the intersection of Newton Street and Schuetter Road due to a license plate not being properly illuminated and the proper registration decal not being displayed on the plate.

After conducting the traffic stop, the driver was identified as 45-year-old Christopher Ohta of Jasper. Ohta was found to have a license status of “Suspended Prior”. Ohta was taken to the Dubois County Security Center and was charged with Operating While Suspended or Revoked; Prior Infraction Violation, a Class A Misdemeanor.
