A Dale man is dead after a hit and run Thursday afternoon.
Police say an elderly man driving a motorized scooter near the South Washington and West Cherry Street intersection was struck and killed around at 2:42 pm yesterday.
The victim, identified as Eugene Hufnagel, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Deputies later located the driver, identified as Amanda Huff, in Rockport and took her into custody.
Huff was booked into the Spencer County Law Enforcement Center and charged with leaving the scene of a fatal crash.
Toxicology results for Huff are pending.
The crash is under investigation by the Dale Police Department and the Indiana State Police.
