           Linda Lou Schmett, age 62, of Huntingburg, passed away at 10:43 a.m., on Wednesday, November 20, 2019, at her residence.

            She was born November 1, 1957, in Jasper, Indiana, to Maurice and Virginia (Blessinger) Vollmer; and married Michael Albert Schmett on March 12, 1983, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Jasper.  Linda was secretary of the family farm; and owner/manager of MLDD, the farm’s pig operation.  She loved being out on her lawn mower cutting grass and spending time with the grandkids.  Linda was preceded in death by her husband, Mike Schmett, who passed away on December 12, 2018; and by nieces and nephews.

            She is survived by one son, Dustin (Jessica) Schmett of Huntingburg; one daughter, Danielle (Evan) Weatherford of Ferdinand; five brothers, Ed (Kathy) Vollmer and Larry (Mary Catherine) Vollmer both of Ireland, Ronald Vollmer, Richard Vollmer and Kenneth Vollmer all of Jasper; four sisters, Mary Jean (Virgil) Werner of Ireland, Donna (Randy) Merkley, Carole (Dale) Jahn and Cathy (Donald) Schroering all of Jasper; and five grandchildren, Colton, Reagan and Stephen Schmett, Eli and Camden Weatherford.

            Funeral services for Linda Schmett will be held at 11:00 a.m., E.S.T., on Monday, November 25, 2019, at Salem United Church of Christ in Huntingburg with burial to follow at Fairmount Cemetery in Huntingburg.  Pastor Mark McDaniel will officiate at the service.

            Friends may call for visitation at the Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg from 2:00-8:00 p.m., on Sunday, November 24th; and also at Salem Church one hour prior to the funeral on Monday.  A rosary prayer vigil will be held at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, at the funeral home.  Condolences may be shared online at www.nassandson.com
