SERVUS, Inc. announced today the sale of the Jasper 8 Theatres to North Park Cinemas, Inc. located in Evansville.

The sale was announced this morning on the Jasper 8 Theatres Facebook page.

SERVUS President Al Ruckriegel says that the sale came about when the Stieler family, those who own North Park Cinemas, Inc., said that they would be interested in buying the theater. Ruckriegel says that with the good relationship that they have with the family, they decided that they would sell it to the family.

North Park Cinemas, Inc. is no stranger to Jasper. North Park Cinemas, Inc. actually helped with the construction of the Jasper 8 Theatre in 1981.

SERVUS’s Robert Ruckriegel says that since 1998, SERVUS has prided itself on entertainment opportunities in the area and he believes that with the sale of Jasper 8 Theatres, North Park Cinemas, Inc., will bring valued cinematic options to the area.

We spoke with North Park Cinemas, Inc. President Mick Stieler and he says that North Park Cinemas, Inc. is excited to be in the Jasper area. Stieler says that while Jasper 8 Theatres will run as normal for the rest of the year, there will be massive updates come 2020.

Stieler says that moviegoers can expect reclining seating, minor adjustments to the auditoriums, a lounge and bar in the lobby, as well as updates to the concession area.

North Park Cinemas will be giving employment opportunities to all current Jasper 8 Theatres management and team members.

Jasper 8 Theatres will be known as Showplace Cinemas Jasper come 2020.
