Last week, Dubois County leaders announced a new campaign to help those who have been affected by COVID-19.

Jasper Mayor Dean Vonderheide, Huntingburg Mayor Denny Spinner, Ferdinand Town Manager Chris James, as well as Dubois County Commissioner Chad Blessinger came together to announce the “Together We Thrive” campaign.

Jasper Mayor Vonderheide spoke with us saying that this campaign came together after Indiana Governor Eric Holcomb’s Back on Track Indiana plan was announced. Vonderheide says that the goal was to make sure that when businesses opened back up, everyone was going to be safe.

As part of the campaign, resource packets were set to be sent out to local businesses to act as a starting point for businesses to reopen. These packets include outlines of what social distancing is, cleaning materials needed to sanitize, and more.

Vonderheide mentioned that when stores begin to open that not only are customers responsible for their safety but for others as well.

Vonderheide says that it’s extremely encouraging to see Dubois County come together to create something that is aimed to help everyone. He says that while Dubois County may have different municipalities like Jasper, Huntingburg, and Ferdinand, they are in this together.
