A Jasper man was taken into custody on obstruction charges.

Friday night, local authorities were called to a vehicle fire. When officers arrived, they found the driver of the vehicle, 35-year-old Gabriel Heredia Ramos. Ramos’s vehicle caught fire due to a mechanical issue.

Officers noticed that Ramos was intoxicated. After a field sobriety test, Ramos was offered a chemical test, which he refused. When officers were granted a search warrant for a blood draw, Ramos refused to comply.

Ramos was charged with OWI and Obstruction of Justice.
