A three-vehicle accident in Jasper last night brought upon nearly $20,000 in damages.

Tuesday evening, Jasper Police were called to the intersection of US 231 and Indiana Street about three trucks that crashed into one another.

Police discovered that 28-year-old Oscar Delgado of Jasper was driving his truck with a juvenile and 21-year-old Andrea Torres.

Delgado failed to yield the right of way to 33-year-old Randy Hammonds of Christopher, Illinois and his Semi.

The semi-struck Delgado’s truck, who spun into the truck of 59-year-old David Swarb of Mill Creek, Oaklahoma, who was stopped at a stop sign at 1st Avenue and US 231.

No one was hurt. Delgado’s truck suffered around $5,000 in damages, Hammonds’s semi suffered around $10,000 in damages, and Swarb’s truck suffered around $4,000 in damages.

When police investigated further, they found that Delgado was driving under the influence of alcohol.

Tests showed Delgado’s blood alcohol content at .173. Delgado was charged with OWI, a class C misdemeanor, OWI with a passenger under 18 years of age, a level 6 felony, and OWI endangerment, a class A misdemeanor.
