A Ferdinand man is in jail on domestic battery charges.

Police responded to a domestic dispute at a home on 9th Street in Ferdinand on Thursday morning.

After further investigation, 31-year-old Mariano Chontal was arrested and charged with two felony counts of domestic battery.

He was transported to the Dubois County Security Center.
