Ferdinand police with assistance from Dubois County sheriffs deputies were dispatched to a domestic situation involving a juvenile male and a juvenile female.
Officers then learned that the altercation had taken place at 1555 Main Street.
After speaking with the involved parties, it was determined the altercation had taken place between a 16-year-old male, a 14-year-old female, a 40-year-old male, and a 42-year-old female.
Two other juvenile females were in the home at the time. Indiana department of children’s services was contacted and assisted in the investigation.
40 year Shaun Mehling was taken into custody and charged with two counts of domestic battery, strangulation, and provocation charges.
