Richard L. “Rich” Sermersheim, age 84, of Jasper, Indiana, passed away at 5:28 a.m. on Sunday, October 16, 2022, with his wife by his side in St. Charles Health Campus in Jasper, Indiana.

Rich was born in Jasper, Indiana on December 13, 1937, to Herbert and Gladys (Gerber) Sermersheim.  He married Doris Burks on May 26, 1962, in St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Evansville, Indiana.

Rich was a 1955 graduate of Jasper High School and then earned an Associate’s Degree from Lockyear Business College.

He served in the Indiana Army National Guard.

He retired from Kimball where he had been an administrative salesman in the Piano Division for 44 years.

Rich was a member of Precious Blood Catholic Church in Jasper, Indiana, the American Legion Post #147, and the Jasper K of C.

He enjoyed watching sports.

Surviving are his wife Doris Sermersheim, Jasper, IN, two children, Brad (Gwendolyn) Sermersheim, Dallas, GA, and Amy (Cameron) Bardwell, Newburgh, IN, five grandchildren, Hannah and Hunter Sermersheim, Lily Sermersheim, and Cade and Maria Bardwell, two sisters, Rebecca Weisman, Jasper, IN, Ruth (Ron) Bellner, Jasper, IN.

Preceding him in death is one brother-in-law, Radius Weisman.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Richard L. “Rich” Sermersheim will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 20, 2022, in Precious Blood Catholic Church in Jasper, Indiana, with entombment to follow in the Fairview Cemetery Mausoleum in Jasper.

A visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. before the service time at the church on Thursday.

Memorial contributions may be made to Precious Blood Catholic Church, Parkinson’s Foundation, or a favorite charity.
