In the early morning hours of Saturday, July 1st, Trooper Noah Ewing was patrolling State Road 56 near French Lick when he saw a speeding vehicle disregard a traffic control device and cross the center line.

A traffic stop on the blue Ford passenger car was initiated and Trooper Ewing made contact with the driver, 30-year-old Charles T. Lynch, of French Lick. The driver was showing signs of impairment and was given field sobriety tests that Lynch subsequently failed. Further investigation showed the driver had a .129% BAC.

Charles Lynch was arrested and charged with a Level 6 Felony Operating While Intoxicated with a prior conviction.
