(Ferdinand, IN) Eileen C. Wilmes, 95, formerly of Ferdinand passed away on Thursday, July 13th at St. Charles Health Campus in Jasper. Eileen was born in Ferdinand on February 10, 1928, to Leo and Blanche (Boeglin) Seufert. She was united in marriage to Ernest B. Wilmes on July 19, 1947, in St. Ferdinand Church. Ernest preceded her in death on February 8, 2011.

Eileen was secretary-treasurer of Wilmes Window Manufacturing Company until her retirement. Her hobbies included tennis, golf, reading, and bookkeeping. She and Ernest enjoyed their annual stay in Scottsdale, AZ., renewing old friendships.

Surviving includes one daughter, Luella (Joe) Wirthwein of Celestine. Four sons, John (Mary) Wilmes of Louisville, Ky, Edward Wilmes of Santa Claus, James (Cynthia) Wilmes of Jasper, and Lee (Linda) Wilmes of Carmel. Eight grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, and seven great-great-grandchildren. One brother, David Seufert of Mountain Center, CA. Eileen was also preceded in death by her parents, one sister, Mary Lee Buechler, and a brother, Wayne Seufert.

A mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM ET on Tuesday, July 18th in St. Ferdinand Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be at the church from 9:00 AM ET until the service time. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Tri-County YMCA.
