Around 4:30 Sunday morning, the Jasper Police Department responded to a single-vehicle crash at the intersection of West 6th and Saint Charles Streets.

Officers arrived at that location and made contact with two people who had removed themselves from the wreckage. An investigation found that 29-year-old Jud Goodness of Jasper was eastbound on 6th Street in his 1999 Ford Ranger and attempted to turn onto Sant Charles Street when the truck left the roadway in the northeast corner of the intersection and struck a utility pole.

Police determined that the Goodness was impaired and transported the driver, along with a passenger, to Memorial Hospital for treatment of their injuries. The passenger complained of rib and stomach pain. He’s in stable condition.

Jud Goodness sustained a severe head injury in the accident. He’s also been listed in stable condition. Charges for Operating While Intoxicated have been forwarded to the Dubois County Prosecutor’s Office.
