Orange County Sheriff’s Office received a grant from Hoosier Uplands recently.  With the grant to the Orange County Sheriff’s office, the department was able to purchase each Deputy rifle-rated plates and plate carriers. These plates are for vests which provide added protection to what they are issued and wear daily.   This Hoosier Uplands grant also allowed the purchase of a DJI Mavic 3T drone equipped with a thermal imaging camera and loudspeaker. This drone will be utilized in search and rescue efforts for lost individuals in Orange County’s vast wooded areas amongst many other uses.

They are also asking residents to be on the lookout for counterfeit money.  They say they have been made aware of counterfeit $100 bills being circulated in the area. These bills look deceivingly real. If you come across a bill that appears to be counterfeit please contact local law enforcement and they will assist you.

Law enforcement agencies, banks, and cash processors will submit suspected counterfeit currency to the Secret Service through the USDollars website.
