On December 19, 2023 the Jasper Police Department began an investigation on allegations of child molesting.  After an extensive investigation, police were able to establish probable cause that 76-year-old Maynard Jackson Jr of Jasper had previous sexual contact with a male juvenile under the age of 14.  Mr. Jackson was interviewed by detectives at the Jasper Police Department where he admitted to the allegations brought forth by the victim.  Mr. Jackson was arrested and was charged with two counts of Class C Felony Child Molesting. He was lodged into the Dubois County Security Center.
