Ruth F. Meyer, age 82, of Jasper, Indiana, passed away surrounded by family at 8:08 a.m. on Tuesday, December 19, 2023, at the Northwood Retirement Community in Jasper, Indiana. 

Ruth was born in Loogootee, Indiana, on May 4, 1941 to Helen Street.  She married Gary Meyer on October 19, 2001, in Springfield, Tennessee.  

She was a homemaker and had worked in production at Wabash Valley Produce. 

Ruth was very active and enjoyed traveling with her husband Gary, gardening, flowers, working in the yard, and spending time with family and friends. 

Surviving are her husband, Gary Meyer, Jasper, IN, nine children, Grant (Tracy Gribben) Seitz, Jasper, IN, Cindy (Andy) Carver, Orleans, IN, Marvin (Vivian) Seitz, Jasper, IN, Jennifer (Jay) Knies, Jasper, IN, Clint Seitz, Jasper, IN, Greg (Ruthetta) Meyer, Huntingburg, IN, Mike (Kristin) Meyer, Port St. Lucie, FL, David Meyer, San Diego, CA, Dale Meyer, Stendal, IN, 17 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, two sisters, Vicki Qualkenbush, Loogootee, IN, and Sue Hembree, Loogootee, IN, and one brother, Harold (Lila) Street, Loogootee, IN. 

Preceding her in death are two grandsons, Jason Seitz and Eric Crays, one great grandson, Jace Seitz, one sister, Sandy Bleemel, and two brothers, Robert and Phil Street. 

The family would like to extend their sincere thanks to Northwood Good Samaritan and Heart-to-Heart Hospice for their kind and compassionate care. 

A funeral service for Ruth F. Meyer will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, December 22, 2023, at the Becher-Kluesner Downtown Chapel in Jasper, Indiana, with burial to follow in Stendal Cemetery.  Pastor Dan Landin will officiate. 

A visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the 2:00 p.m. service time at funeral home on Friday. 

Memorial contributions may be made to the activities department at the Northwood Retirement Community.
