George Thomas “Tom” Lambert, age 79, of Huntingburg, passed away at 4:03 p.m., on Thursday, January      18, 2024, at Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center in Jasper.

He was born January 25, 1944, in Covington, Kentucky, to George and Mary (Ostendorf) Lambert; he married Carol Sue Lemond on April 2, 1964, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Huntingburg.  Tom was an active member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Huntingburg YMI, and Huntingburg Optimist Club, and previously served as the councilman at-large for the Huntingburg City Council.  He was preceded in death by his parents; stepfather, Lucas Kern; and two brothers, Dr. Philip Lambert and Robert Lambert.

He is survived by his wife, Carol Sue Lambert of Huntingburg; one daughter, Leigh (Christopher) Neu of Huntingburg; two brothers, Jim (Marilyn) Kern of Haubstadt and Tim (Sue) Kern of Dale; and two grandchildren, Madeline (William) McElhaney of Chicago, Illinois and Corbin (Lynnette) Neu of Lombard, Illinois.

Funeral services for Tom Lambert will be held at noon, E.S.T., on Saturday, January 27, 2024, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Huntingburg.  Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery.  Father Biju Thomas will officiate the service.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 – 12:00 p.m., on Saturday, at Nass & Son Funeral Home prior to the service at the church.  Nass & Son Funeral Home has been entrusted with handling the arrangements. 

Memorial contributions may be made to the Huntingburg Public Library.
