Keeping Mr. Lincoln, the Lincoln Amphitheatre’s 2024 signature Lincoln production, will make its debut at the historic venue with a three-night run beginning this Thursday, June 27, and ending with a finale on Saturday, June 29.  A civil war reenactment ensemble, Red Bank ReUnion Band, will perform in the mezzanine before the start of each performance.  Doors for each night will open at 6 p.m. and the performance will begin promptly at 7 p.m.  All times are central.

“The Lincoln production is always a highlight of our summer and our production team at 1816 Theatrics has worked very hard to make this a special run of performances,” said Marc Steczyk, Lincoln Amphitheatre’s director.  “The show will feature not only the inspirational words of Abraham Lincoln and those who knew him and his journey best, but also some of your favorite music and songs from musicals past, as well as appropriate period pieces.”

Keeping Mr. Lincoln celebrates Abraham Lincoln’s entire life—his Kentucky childhood, Indiana youth, and Illinois and Washington, D.C., adulthood.  It is a drama by Sandra Fenichel Asher and is being produced by 1816 Theatrics for the Lincoln Amphitheatre.

General admission tickets are only $19.95 and there are senior ($17.95 for those 55 and up) and veteran ($15.95) discounts available and children 12 and under are free with a downloaded ticket.  Tickets may be purchased in advance at www.LincolnAmphitheatre.com or by calling the box office at 812-937-2329.  They will also be available for purchase in person at the box office the day of each performance.

The run is being presented with support from the Lincoln Boyhood Drama Association and the Lincoln Amphitheatre’s 2024 performance series is presented by the Spencer & Perry County Community Foundations.
