On July 12, 2024, at 7:22 a.m., Gibson County Central Dispatch received a 911 report of an automobile accident in the 1300 block of East 150 South. Deputies Chad Craney and U.B. Smith were dispatched to the area, and upon arriving they located a black 2008 Jeep Liberty in a cornfield next to the roadway.

Deputy Craney identified the driver as 31-year-old Hayley Williams of Princeton. While speaking with Ms. Williams, Deputy Craney detected clues that she might be under the influence of an unknown intoxicant. Consequently, he began a roadside OWI investigation. At the conclusion of his investigation, Ms. Williams was taken into custody and transported to the Gibson County Jail. Upon arrival, she was charged with Operating a Vehicle While Intoxicated-Refusal.
