Jasper Community Arts has announced they will be presenting the work of Jasper artist (previously from Indianapolis, IN), Ronald Mack at the Thyen-Clark Cultural Center during the months of August, September, and October. The solo exhibition titled; ‘Over 50 Paintings: Through the Years’ will feature a variety of plein air oil paintings.
Ron Mack’s work is characterized by his careful use of light and color. Special attention to the edges and extremities of objects creates great depth within his landscapes, leading the viewer’s eye throughout the painting. Careful study and uncompromising discipline serve as a solid foundation for his success.
Ron continues to teach classes and conduct many painting workshops and is always finding new and interesting subjects to study. His paintings have gained notice in the Midwest winning many awards including, Best of Show at Irvington, the Indiana Artists Club Membership Show, and the Indiana State Fair. Mack has also won the award for Outstanding Oil Painting and Still Life at the Hoosier Salon.
In combination with Mack’s exhibit on display at the Thyen-Clark Cultural Center, he will be painting live in his Gallery among his artwork on Saturday, August 3rd, and Wednesday, September 14th, from 10 AM to 1 PM. This is an opportunity for the public to watch a professional artist in action and ask any questions about his techniques or process. A Gallery Talk from Ronald Mack will also take place at The First Thursday Reception on Thursday, August 1st from 5 to 7 PM. The events are free and open to the public.
The galleries at the Thyen-Clark Cultural Center, located at 100 3rd Avenue, Suite A, in Jasper, are open to the public Monday through Friday from 9 AM to 5 PM, Saturday from 10 AM to 2 PM, and Sunday from noon to 3 PM.
