The Jasper Public Library has announced the list of events they will be holding in August 2024.

  • Family Storytime – On Tuesdays beginning August 13th at 10am
  • Genealogy Help Desk – Tuesdays from 10am-4pm
  • Study & Chill for Teens – Wednesdays from 3:30pm-5pm – Teens and tweens are invited to come and do their homework and study in a safe environment with a dedicated space just for them.
  • Curiosity Café for Teens – Thursdays at 4pm – Teens will enjoy a variety of different things each week including snacks, crafts, and games.
  • Baby Storytime – Thursday, August 1st at 10am – Parents and caregivers are invited to join for some fun stories, rhymes, songs, and sensory play at the library.
  • Monday Make & Take – Monday, August 5th at 10am – Join the library on Monday mornings for a make and take. Stop by the tables in the front of the library to make an easy game-themed craft and enjoy a snack. This craft only takes a few minutes to create. These are available while supplies last.
  • Bingo & Coffee – Tuesday, August 6th at 6pm – All adults and teens are invited to join for bingo and coffee. There will be prizes for winners.
  • Knot Just Knitting – Wednesday, August 7th at 11am – This group will meet on the 1st Wednesday morning of each month to enjoy knitting, crochet, and other needlecrafts. Bring your needlecrafts and come share tips, hints, and conversation.
  • Afternoon Book Club – Thursday, August 8th from 3:00pm-4:00pm – Join the Afternoon Book Club; new members are always welcome. Stop by the Information Desk at the Library to pick up the book club monthly read anytime. They encourage all Adult and Young Adult readers to join at any time.
  • Farmer’s Market Storytime – Saturday, August 10 from 10:00am-11:00am – Everyone is invited to join the library’s Farmer’s Market Storytime. Look for them at 10:00 A.M. on select Saturdays. If the weather is inclement, they will have story time in the programming room. This is a free event that requires no registration.
  • Author Meet N’ Greet – Saturday, August 10 at 10am – The library will be hosting Dr. Richard Moss for a book signing of his newest book, The Empire of Eunuchs.
  • LEGO Robotics – Saturday, August 10th at 2pm – For those ages 8 and up. Join in to build LEGO robots using the LEGO WeDo Boost and Mindstorms sets. Start with the LEGO WeDo and eventually work your way up to the LEGO Mindstorms. Parents are strongly encouraged to participate.
  • Family Bingo – Sunday, August 11th at 1pm – Everyone is invited to join for the end-of-summer family bingo. Join in for special rounds and win exciting prizes. This event will be fun for all ages.
  • DNA in Genealogy – Tuesday, August 13th at 2pm & 6pm – Join other genealogists for a webinar program on Using MyHeritage DNA testing to assist in your family research. Registration is required.
  • Big Bang Theory Trivia – Tuesday, August 13th at 6pm – Calling all fans of the Big Bang Theory, join the library for trivia night! All teens and adults are invited to join and compete for the coveted Bazinga trophy and other prizes. There will be space for teams of up to 6 players on each team. Space is limited and registration is required.
  • Craft of the Month: Tin Foil Art – Wednesday, August 14th at 6pm – Kids in grades K and up can join for this fun Art project using aluminum foil and their own creative drawing. Registration is required.
  • Baby Storytime – Thursday, August 15th at 10am – Parents and caregivers are invited to join for some fun stories, rhymes, songs, and sensory play at the library.
  • Red Cross Blood Drive – Thursday, August 15th from 1pm-6pm – Registration is required.
  • Knot Just Knitting – Wednesday, August 21st at 5pm – Join every 3rd Wednesday of the month at 5pm. Enjoy the company of knitters, crocheters, and other needleworkers. Learn from others and share your skills.
  • Bingo & Coffee – Friday, August 23rd at 10am – All adults and teens are invited to join for bingo and coffee. There will be prizes for winners.

  • Evening Book Club – Tuesday, August 27 at 6:30pm – Join the discussion. Stop by the Library and check out a copy of this month’s book selection from the library staff.
  • Preschool STEM: All About Food – Wednesday, August 28th at 6pm – Children ages 3-6 are invited to join for some fun activities and experiments all about food, including the egg drop, making raisins dance, and more. Registration is required.
  • Baby Storytime – Thursday, August 29th at 10am – Parents and caregivers are invited to join for some fun stories, rhymes, songs, and sensory play at the library.
  • Coffee Cards & Coloring – Friday, August 30th at 10am – Join for a morning of card making, coffee, and coloring. This crafting event is free for adults and teens.
