The Lincoln Amphitheatre and 101 Country WBDC FM have partnered to host a contest, the winner of which will open for Warner Music Nashville’s Walker County in Lincoln City on Saturday, August 10.

“The Lincoln Amphitheatre is one of the area’s premiere outdoor entertainment destinations,” said Marc Steczyk, the facility’s director.  “Our PA and sound rig is top-notch, our crew is professional, and this is a potential opportunity for a local or regional band to play in an environment unlike any other in our area.”

The contest rules are relatively simple:  email a YouTube or other video-sharing service link of your act/band performing live (solo, duo, trio, full band, etc.) to lincolnamphitheatre@visitindiana.com with a subject line of Walker County Opening Act Contest (or similar).  If trouble submitting, entrants also can call the Lincoln Amphitheatre box office at 812-937-2329.

Entries are due Friday, August 2, and the winner will be announced on Tuesday, August 6.

Walker County is led by sisters Ivy and Sophie and has captured the hearts of fans and earned millions of streams with fan-favorite tracks such as “Bits & Pieces” and “Drag It Out”.  They have appeared on CMT and The Kelly Clarkson Show and have also opened for country music legends Willie Nelson, Martina McBride, Dwight Yoakam, and Old Dominion.

Tickets for this special “Emerging Artist” Saturday, August 10, event are available at www.LincolnAmphitheatre.com, directly at bit.ly/EmergingArtistSat, or by phoning the box office at 812-937-2329. Walker County’s performance is presented in part with support from MasterBrand Cabinets and the Lincoln Amphitheatre’s 2024 performance series is presented by the Spencer County Community Foundation and the Perry County Community Foundation.
