Richard A. ‘Dick’ Beckman, 81, of Las Vegas, NV, passed away Sunday, July 21, 2024, at home surrounded by family.

Dick was born in Jasper, IN on October 7, 1942, to O. Leo and Roselyn (Thyen) Beckman. He married Linda Buchholz on March 16, 1968.

He attended high school at Mount St. Francis near Floyds Knobs, IN and later graduated from Jasper High School in 1960.

During the summer of 1960, Dick and his brother Dan attended the Boy Scout National Jamboree in Colorado Springs, CO. Dick attended Bellarmine College before enlisting in the Air Force. He later received his bachelor’s degree from the University of San Francisco.

Dick worked for over 20 years for the National Security Agency (NSA) while in the Air Force and as a civilian. He later worked as a Consultant for Booz Allen, Electronic Data Systems, Lockheed Martin, and Ernst & Young.

He enjoyed playing cards, watching the Dodgers, traveling, and spending time with family, and friends.

Dick is survived by his wife of 56 years, Linda Beckman of Las Vegas, NV, daughter Julie (John) Cato, Livermore, CA, son, Matt Beckman, Roseville, CA, granddaughter Kylie Cato, two sisters, Jane (John) Chappell, Mary Beth ‘Becky’ Beckman, Jasper, IN, and one brother, William ‘Bill’ (Martha) Beckman, of Highlands Ranch, CO.

He was preceded in death by his parents and five brothers: Robert (Marge) Beckman, David (Geri) Beckman, Jerry (Lina) Beckman, Dan (Rose) Beckman, Steve (Terri) Beckman, and one sister, Kathy (Wayne) Seufert. Private services were held.
