With the start of the 2024-2025 Academic School Year less than a month away the Southeast Dubois County School Corporation, which oversees Pine Ridge Elementary, Ferdinand Elementary, Cedar Crest Intermediate, and Forest Park Junior-Senior High School, will also see the first day of school and classes starting on Wednesday, August the 7th the same as Greater Jasper Consolidated Schools and the Southwest Dubois County School Corporation. Here is a list of “back to school” related events happening in this district:

  • Back to School “Sneak Peek” night at CCI on Monday, July 29th! Parents and students can get a head start on the upcoming school year and meet their teachers. Doors open at 5:30 PM, meeting promptly in the gym at 6:00 PM. Cedar Crest Intermediate School is located near the Bretzville Junction intersection.
  • Ferdinand Elementary will host an Open House on Monday, August 5th from 5 PM to 6:30 PM. This is a great opportunity to come and meet your student’s teacher, tour the classrooms and school, put money in your child’s lunch accounts, get answers to any questions you may have, and more. Also at the Open House will be various local community organizations with information for all families in attendance. Ferdinand Elementary is also changing student drop-offs for the new school year. Doors will now be open at 7:30 AM for all students and bus and car riders can be dropped off between 7:30 AM and 7:45 AM. CCI buses will leave the parking lot for the trip to Bretzville at 7:35 AM as normal.
  • Pine Ridge Elementary School will host Parent Night on Thursday, August 1st. The doors will open a little early for families needing access to a computer or help with online registration. The K-2 teachers have specific information they would like to go through with parents and afterwards the rest of the evening will be an Open House Format. PRE Principal Karl Hinson and the school nurse will also be at the Parent Night to meet parents and answer any questions. Doors open for this event at 5:30 PM.
  • Forest Park Junior-Senior High School is also holding an Open House, just like FES, on Monday, August 5th at 5:00. Various teachers and staff will be on hand to assist incoming Junior and Senior High students and parents with questions and concerns.
