The Daviess County Sheriff’s Office is currently investigating a fatal traffic accident that took place at the intersection of CR 600 N and CR 100 W, also known as Edwardsport Road. The incident occurred at approximately 10:08 a.m., when Daviess County Central Dispatch received a report of a two-vehicle collision involving a semi-truck and a motorcycle.

According to the investigation, a 2024 Volvo semi-truck with a trailer was traveling westbound on CR 600 N and failed to stop at a stop sign at the intersection with CR 100 W. The semi-truck then pulled into the path of a 2014 Yamaha motorcycle traveling south on CR 100 W, resulting in a severe collision.

The motorcyclist, identified as 70-year-old Lester Linneweber from Washington, was transported from the scene by ambulance but was pronounced deceased upon arrival at the hospital. His family has been notified of the tragic incident.

The driver of the semi-truck, identified as 23-year-old Adenis Pepa from Brooklyn, New York, sustained minor injuries and was also transported from the scene by ambulance. A chemical test was administered to Mr. Pepa, with results showing negative for drugs or alcohol.

The Daviess County Sheriff’s Office is leading the investigation, with assistance from the Indiana State Police, who are reconstructing the accident. Once the investigation is concluded, all reports will be submitted to the Daviess County Prosecutor’s Office for review.

The scene was attended by the Plainville Volunteer Fire Department, the Daviess County Ambulance Service, the Indiana State Police, and Briggeman’s Wrecker Service.
