The Dubois County Sheriff’s Office is excited to announce that Richard Wilz will be taking on the role of Transport Officer. With 13 years of dedicated service to Dubois County, Richard began his career in 2011 as a Corrections Officer at Dubois County Community Corrections and joined the Sheriff’s Office in 2018 as a Jail Officer.

Richard has sought to expand his responsibilities, and the Transport Officer position aligns perfectly with his skills and experience. His background in corrections and jail settings has honed his communication and interaction abilities, which he believes will be invaluable in his new role.

In his new position, Richard looks forward to collaborating with courthouse personnel and state agencies. His proficiency, preparation, integrity, and commitment to safety are expected to enhance the efficiency of the transport team.

Outside of work, Richard is an active sports enthusiast, often attending his children’s football, wrestling, baseball, and volleyball events. He and his family also enjoy camping together.
