The Dubois County Sheriff’s Office is proud to announce the hiring of Art Parks as its new Courthouse Security Officer. Parks brings with him an impressive 30-year career in law enforcement, characterized by a wealth of experience and leadership.

Recently retired from the Huntingburg Police Department after 28 years of service, Art Parks has served in various capacities, including a notable 12-year tenure as Chief of Police. He began his career at the Ferdinand Police Department, where he worked for approximately two years before moving on to Huntingburg.

Art’s extensive background in law enforcement motivated him to join the Dubois County Sheriff’s Office. He expressed his eagerness to explore the courtroom side of the field, stating, “Being able to work for the Dubois County Sheriff’s Office is an exciting next step in my career.” Parks is particularly looking forward to learning about the county’s day-to-day operations at the courthouse and collaborating with the various departments within the courthouse and annex buildings.

With his deep knowledge and experience in law enforcement, Art Parks aims to quickly learn the intricacies of courthouse operations. He is determined to be the best Courthouse Security Officer possible and hopes to serve in this capacity for many years to come.

Outside of his professional duties, Parks enjoys spending his free time traveling, fishing, and woodworking. The Dubois County Sheriff’s Office is thrilled to welcome Art Parks to the team, where his dedication and experience will play a crucial role in maintaining the safety and security of the courthouse.
