On August 25, 2024, Gibson County Deputy U.B. Smith responded to a potential restraining order violation in the 9500 block of West 650 South near Owensville. Following an investigation and statements from both involved parties, Deputy Smith arrested 52-year-old Matthew Thorbeck of Evansville on charges of Invasion of Privacy for violating a valid restraining order. Thorbeck was taken into custody and transported to the Gibson County Jail. Owensville Town Marshal Rodger Leister assisted in the investigation. All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in court.
