The Jasper Chamber of Commerce is now accepting nominations for the 2024 President’s Community Excellence Award. This prestigious award is presented annually by the President of the Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors to an individual who has generously contributed their time, talents, or resources to the Jasper community.

The award is open to individuals from all walks of life who have made a significant impact on the community. It recognizes those whose works and public service may often go unnoticed but are invaluable to the community’s well-being. Nominations will help acknowledge and celebrate these selfless individuals.

A committee from the current Jasper Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors will judge all nominations. The award will be presented by Deidra Church, Chamber Board President, at the Jasper Chamber Annual Meeting on Thursday, September 26, 2024.

The deadline for nominations is Tuesday, September 3, 2024. The nominee must be an individual but can be nominated by either an individual or an organization. Nomination forms are available at the Jasper Chamber of Commerce and must be submitted along with the following criteria:

  1. A letter of up to one page listing your reasons for the nomination.
  2. A biography of the individual listing their service to the community, with specifics on Community Support & Involvement, Business Excellence, Leadership Skills, and Creativity.

Nominations submitted in previous years are encouraged to be re-submitted for consideration in this year’s selection process.

Since its inception, the award has honored many outstanding individuals, starting with the first President’s Award presented posthumously to Alvin C. Ruxer in 1991. Other notable recipients include Bob Siebert, Anne Heeke, Jim Stenftenagel, and many more who have made significant contributions to the Jasper community.
