The former St. Joseph’s Hospital in Huntingburg will soon reopen as a 16-bed senior psychiatric hospital. Mission Behavioral Health, established through a partnership between Midwest Behavioral Management, LLC, and Deaconess, is expected to open by late September or early October. The facility will focus on geriatric psychiatric services, providing specialized care for conditions such as anxiety, depression, Alzheimer’s disease, and other mental health disorders.

Significant renovations have been made to the facility, including new elevators, a new roof, and interior remodeling to create more space for patients. Mission Behavioral Health plans to employ around 50 staff members, including nurses and behavioral health technicians. The hospital will serve patients within a 60-mile radius of Huntingburg, located at 1880 Medical Arts Drive.

Mission Behavioral Health aims to deliver safe and therapeutic care tailored to the unique needs of the senior population, marking an important addition to mental health services in the area.
