Local and regional leaders in southwest Indiana are celebrating the launch of The Dominion, the region’s first READI 2.0 project. This new mixed-use development in western Warrick County will receive funding from Indiana’s Regional Economic Acceleration and Development Initiative (READI), aimed at advancing community development and talent attraction in the greater Evansville area.

The Dominion, a $71.5 million project including a $5 million READI 2.0 allocation, will be constructed at the intersection of State Road 66 and Grim Road, near the Warrick Wellness Trail and Ohio Township Park. The first phase, set to begin in September 2025 and estimated for completion by summer 2027, will feature 150 market-rate apartments, a five-story commercial building with restaurant and retail spaces, and an outdoor community area linked to the Warrick Wellness Trail. This development will enhance housing options, community spaces, and recreational access in southwest Indiana.

Phase two of The Dominion will add more residential units, a hotel, and additional restaurant and retail space. The project builds on the momentum of the Ohio Township Park, a previous READI 1.0 initiative, and the investments made in the Warrick Wellness Trail.

READI 1.0 has already invested $487 million in 353 projects across Indiana, yielding significant returns in quality of life, place, and opportunity. READI 2.0 continues this effort with an additional $750 million, expected to attract substantial local public and private funding.

Warrick County is part of the READI Southwest Indiana region, which has been awarded $95 million in matching funds from READI 1.0 and 2.0. These investments, including The Dominion, aim to foster population growth, enhance quality of life, and create new opportunities across Gibson, Posey, Vanderburgh, and Warrick counties. The region’s strategic development initiatives are designed to capitalize on its natural assets and infrastructure to build a vibrant, prosperous future.
